Belle Amie are three feisty and unique young women, united by a shared love of music. They each beat thousands of entrants to make it to the boot camp stage of The X Factor 2010, where they were cherry-picked by music mogul Simon Cowell to form Belle Amie.
Then a four piece, Belle Amie are now performing as a trio and say that they feel stronger than ever. ‘The dynamic is just much better’ explains Rebecca. ‘We’re having so much fun working together.’ And with their incredible singing voices and fierce personal style, it’s not hard to see why Louis Walsh has hailed BELLE AMIE as ‘the next big girl band.’
As well as a shared commitment to making their dreams a reality, all three girls are genuine music-lovers who are influenced by a huge range of genres. Sophia likes everything from ‘electro, dance, trance, Drum & Bass and Dubstep. I love The xx. Miike Snow. Anything that’s different, really'. Rebecca has similarly eclectic tastes. ‘I love indie, like Kings of Leon, but I’m also obsessed with Katy Perry’. ‘I like old-school R&B’, says Esther ‘but Sophia has really got me into jazz.’
Belle Amie are now honing their own sound alongside various songwriters and producers, including Chad Dexter - the LA-based superproducer behind hits by 50 Cent, Fergie and Cassie. Bored by insipid pop, the girls are eager to craft a sound that is as eclectic and unique as their own personalities.
